About Me

Hi, my name is Guy Nicholas. I’m a Senior Computer Scientist at Adobe, where I’ve spent the past 22 years building, scaling, and optimizing a wide range of products. Over the last several years I’ve focused on backend server engineering—tuning NoSQL databases, improving performance at scale, and strengthening the infrastructure behind major cloud services.

Before Adobe, I worked at LEGO on the Mindstorms product line, serving as the primary developer behind the vision‑detection system used in the Vision Command kit. Earlier in my career, I wrote children’s edutainment software at Broderbund, contributing to titles that helped spark creativity and learning for millions of kids.

Outside of work, I’m usually flying radio‑control aircraft—slope gliders, 3D helicopters, and airplanes—or carving up the twisties on my Honda CB1000R, especially along Skaggs Springs Road. When I’m not in the air or on two wheels, you’ll probably find me banging on a guitar and making noise for the fun of it.
